Job Summary
This position will provide PSE&G RES Safety Program leadership and implementation by establishing and maintaining accountability for industrial health and safety performance and programs employees and contractor safety. Establishes safety & health programs under direction of the H&S Program Manager or Operating Manager and provides technical oversight, guidance and administrative support to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations pertaining to employee safety and health within the various locations.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for overall safety and health management and subject matter expertise; provide advice, guidance and counsel for all levels of management and bargaining unit, local H&S councils, LOB H&S councils, and PSEG councils in all areas of health and safety including policies; procedures, standards, Incident investigations, H&S system components and regulatory requirements. Work with management and represented personnel to identify and remove hazards. Perform field audits, inspections and assessments of safety programs and processes and initiate corrective actions. Develop and maintain safety and health communications and programs in compliance with federal and state regulations. Develop hazard control methods, programs and procedures. Develop, implement and monitor health and safety training that meets OSHA, federal, state and local government requirements. Provide input for OSHA record keeping. Provide timely and effective messages to maintain high awareness levels, reducing hazards and the potential for on-the-job injuries and motor vehicle collisions. Perform analysis of H&S statistics to keep abreast of timely and accurate reporting and identify improvement opportunities. Analyze and review existing work procedures to establish new methodologies and procedures to improve business and safety operations. Responsible and accountable for improvement in year over year health and safety scorecard measures and progress toward top decile H&S performance.

Job Specific Qualifications
Required
- BS in Occupational Safety and Health or related field, and 5 years equivalent health and safety experience
- Three years' experience in operations
- Strong leadership, adaptability, decision making, problem solving, teamwork, communications, client/customer satisfaction focus skills
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant consensus standards i.e. ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and persuasive interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity
- CSP, CIH, OSHT or CUSA certification preferred
- Defensive driving certification
