The Role: Director, Environmental Solutions
The Team: The S&P environmental team supports the unique requirements of participants in emerging environmental markets. Our integrated environmental platform provides end-to-end management of environmental portfolios and full support for existing and emerging environmental programs and markets. The environmental group provides registry, carbon meta registry and auction services to the environmental markets. The registry provides secure, robust, transparent and automated services for the listing and management of carbon and other environmental assets (including water and biodiversity). Our independent auction platform provides an additional avenue of liquidity for our environmental clients.

S&P Global Commodity Insights enables organizations to create long-term, sustainable value with data and insights for a complete view on the global energy and commodities markets.
Responsibilities:
Director, Environmental Solutions will report directly to the Global Head of Environmental Solutions Team. The position is to assist in carrying out our strategy for the product growth of the Environmental Solutions team. The position will entail significant interaction with both external clients (existing and new) as well as internal clients (i.e., sales team, technology, and finance team) to support product growth.
What we are looking for:
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $150,000 and up depending on expertise. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What we are looking for:
- 5+ years' professional work experience in the carbon markets preferred
- An undergraduate and postgraduate degree in relevant subjects such as Economics, Finance, Environmental Economics, Development Economics or Environmental Sciences or relevant work experience
- The candidate should be conscious of detail and numerically proficient with natural curiosity and an innovative approach to problem solving
- Experience in environmental markets (carbon, water, biodiversity)
- Responsible for account maintenance and business development in for environmental Solutions existing products (registry, Meta Registry, auctions, and commodity tracker) as well as new product initiatives.
- Conduct research to identify current and future trends in
- Draft and / or coordinate the creation of external and internal communications including working with sales and marketing teams on product marketing strategy & related materials for and to assist in other regions as needed
- Assist in leading the product's steering committee and sector advisory groups for Meta Registry participants
- Meet with clients to provide high level product expertise and support the sales process
