Job Description
The Analyst I prepares and analyzes environmental samples using standard analytical techniques according to approved scientific methodology in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position can be physical job that may require standing for long periods, working with organic solvents, laboratory glassware and specialized equipment.
Position is full-time with possible overtime and weekends, and requires working one of the following two work shifts:
Monday - Friday 11am - 7:30pm
Monday - Friday 3:30am - 12pm
Initial training will be the 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:
Preparation of samples using standard techniques
Performing chemical analysis using standard techniques
Evaluation and quantification of data
Recording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
Performing routine instrument maintenance
Competancy on complex instrumentation instrument specific software (training is provided)
Responsible for keeping personal training documentation (training records, IDOC/DOC) current and accurate
Responsible for timely completion of assigned/scheduled QC samples (MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT)
As required, documents NCMs for projects with quality issues
Understands and utilizes backlog reports to manage personal workload.
Works under close supervision using routine and standard methods
Regular attendance and punctuality
Responsible for general housekeeping in work area
Proficient, with IDOCs, for a minimum for 50% of methods carried out in the department
Responsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing environmental, health and safety and quality assurance standards
Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
