The brand-new facility will utilize the latest technology to increase the company's manufacturing capacity in parenteral (injectable) medications, device assembly and packaging operations. The Lilly Concord site will be built using the latest high-tech equipment, advanced highly integrated and automated manufacturing systems, and have a focus on minimizing the impact to our environment. The Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) Specialist will be responsible for the development and technical support of health and safety systems, processes, and programs at the Concord site. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: regulatory and corporate HSE compliance for the site, coordination of all HSE activities for the site, tracking and trending data necessary for safe operation, site HSE improvements, and influencing business and strategic planning.

Responsibilities:

Develop, establish, and sustain HSE systems, processes, and programs for the Concord site. This includes both day-to-day front line support and longer term development of best practices.

Engage site resources in achieving an injury free workplace. Leverage knowledge of severe incident risk to influence minimization of potential events and increase awareness / knowledge among site resources.

Partner with construction and design build firms to ensure smooth handoff from construction to start up.

Cross train with other HSE associates.

Understand and support the HSE event, CAPA and change control processes, and influence application of the hierarchy of controls to reduce risk.

Leverage knowledge of severe injury risk to influence minimization of potential events, and increase awareness / knowledge among site resources.

Effectively train and coach employees in both technical and cultural HSE subjects

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in scientific, engineering, or HSE-related discipline

Minimum 2 years safety experience in an industrial environment.

Additional Preferences:

Experience with employee emergency response teams

Experience with safe work practices, such as lock out tag out, fall protection, or permit to work.

Experience with manufacturing in clean environments, such as food, pharmaceutical, medical devices or similar.

Experience with construction activities.

Additional Information:

Role is Monday through Friday based. Must be flexible in providing support to accommodate other inputs (production schedules, shutdowns, etc.). Occasional extended hour and / or off-hour work may be required.

Position will be based out of Concord site with ability to travel to Indianapolis and other global Lilly sites, as required.
