The Creighton University Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology (MMI) is recruiting exceptional candidates for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions as part of a strategic effort to significantly expand the research capacity of the department over the next five years. Other ranks will be considered. The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology is involved in research and teaching that broadly relates to the dynamic interaction between microbial pathogenesis and host defense (https://www.creighton.edu/medicine/departments/medical-microbiology-immunology).

The ideal candidates are expected to establish a vigorous independent research program that would ideally integrate into the collegial environment within the School of Medicine and participate in graduate and professional student teaching. The School of Medicine is one of nine schools and colleges at Creighton University including professional schools of Business, Law, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Health Professions, and the Graduate School who along with clinical colleagues in infectious diseases afford ample opportunities to establish collaborations. Qualifications:
A Doctorate or master's degree from an accredited college or university;
2-4 years postdoctoral research experience; will be expected to establish a vigorous independent research program that would ideally integrate into the collegial environment within the School of Medicine and participate in graduate and professional student teaching

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations;
Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others
Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications
