Our client, a Packaging Manufacturer is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join their team. As a Environmental Specialist, you will be part of the EHS Department supporting the Environmental team. The ideal candidate will have communication, client support and implementation skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Environmental Specialist
Location: Denton, TX
Pay: $68,000 - 96,000 / annual

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the ISO 14001 certification, coordinating internal and external audits, coordinating findings and deviations along the Safety & Health Pillar (ISO 45001) and Quality (BRC). Ensure the documentation compliance and ensure the requirements are met.
  • Implement best practices to drive the reduction of landfill waste, energy and water along with the process stakeholders.
  • Drive environmental programs including but not limited to Hazardous Waste (RCRA), Universal Waste, Solid Waste, Wastewater and Stormwater (SWPPP)
  • Interact with environment agents (TCQE, City of Denton, etc.)
  • Play an active role in establishing and maintaining procedures and techniques to minimize environmental impact of our production facility, considering chemicals and waste.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience managing industrial processes and being responsible for the compliance of legal requirements, ISO 14001 standards, waste management and energy efficiency management
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Industrial, Chemical Engineering or similar. Experience can take place of degree.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 standards
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations
  • Ability to train employees on Environmental topics
