IN A NUTSHELL
As the EHS Specialist, you will implement and coordinate environmental/safety programs to protect the safety of
our employees, reduce risk and liability for the corporation, and minimize impacts to the environment. You will
do this by ensuring all regulatory requirements that impact the business are met, create and facilitate employee
safety trainings, perform incident investigations, generate health and safety assessment reports, and lead the
safety committee. You will be a great communicator and coach to employees on safety standards and enforcing
procedures. You are a positive person who has a passion for safety and people, and you adjust well in a
growing, changing manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Complete and submit all regulatory forms and reports in an accurate and timely manner to be 100%
compliant to local, state, and federal laws.
* Evaluate site safety program and recommend necessary improvements for implementation.
* Identify training needs and conduct or coordinate safety trainings as it relates to occupational safety,
environmental protection, and hazardous materials.
* Perform new hire safety orientation as part of our onboarding process.
* Proactively find means to increase employee health and safety with the goal of reducing accidents and
severity of injuries thus increasing productivity. Ex- encouraging the value of early incident/injury
reporting.
* Conduct and communicate incident investigation findings to minimize reoccurrence, assure
the preparation of accident reports, and confirm closure of corrective actions.
* Coordinate and work with Operations in supporting company safety committee, environmental
committees, and Site Leadership Team.
* Develop a company safety culture where environmental, health and safety issues are openly discussed,
and safety suggestions are responded to in a timely manner. Be a sounding board for environmental,
health and safety concerns of the employees and company as a whole.
* Perform safety audits in support of compliance assurance activities, including internal audits and provide
recommendations to improve audit scores.
* Assist with safety & ergonomic program implementation, identify gaps, and provide guidance on
improvement opportunities.
* Coordinate with your Safety team colleagues at our sister companies to maintain consistency across the
organization.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Occupational Health and Safety or a relevant field, preferred
* Motivated Self-Starter
* Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce
* Current knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations
* OSHA certification or CSP designation preferred
* Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver engaging trainings
* Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
* Diplomacy, tact, and good judgment
* Detail orientated and highly organized
* Experience in a manufacturing organization is preferred

* Sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
* Standing, walking and physical presence in production areas
* Safety glasses and other required protection must be worn in the production area
