Arcosa Lightweight is searching for an Environmental Engineer in Boulder, CO. In this role you will support a positive safety culture staff within two 24/7 aggregate environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards. The Environmental Engineer will direct and maintain all environmental systems to ensure continued compliance with Corporate and Governmental standards for the Frazier Park, CA and Boulder, CO plants. This position develops and implements programs to prevent and solve environmental problems.

Arcosa Lightweight is a leading producer and distributor in the Western and Southwestern U.S. of lightweight and natural aggregates, including expanded shale and clay, crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, and other products.

What You'll Do:
• Work safely at all times and contributes to the establishment of a positive Safety culture by participating in ARC100 Defined Activities; adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Provide oversight and direction for day-to-day compliance with applicable air, wastewater, water and storm water permits, plans, regulations
• Interpret environmental laws and permit requirements, stay abreast of the changing regulatory landscape and analyze the various options for complying with new regulations and permit requirements
• Coordinate the reporting and record keeping activities for facility's permits and other environmental regulatory reporting requirements and corporate sustainability data tracking requirements
• Maintains detailed records and prepares related reports and studies for submission to regulatory agencies
• Develop and implement environmental compliance programs to ensure environment regulatory obligations are fulfilled in a cost-effective manner and that environmental risks are effectively managed
• Build strong working relationships in order to support the adherence to environmental initiatives
• Oversee the development of findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to mitigate environmental hazards across various environmental media, including but not limited to, air emissions, water pollution control, hazardous materials management, and solid waste management, etc.
• Perform technical analysis of process data as related to air and water emissions
• Apply for original permits and maintains a schedule for renewals, reporting, and provisions of all required environmentally related permits
• Develop, implement, and coordinate emergency response to release
events as necessary
• Develop and delivers environmental compliance-related training sessions
• Travel 30% of time to Frazier Park, CA; responsibilities shared between Frazier Park, CA and Boulder, CO facilities
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need:
• Expert working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations with regard to Air Quality, Wastewater, Storm Water, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management
• Strong knowledge of training methods, procedures, and techniques
• Strong computer skills including data management and presentation and experience in MS Office Suite
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
• Data analysis and problem-solving skills that uncover contributors to environmental compliance-related incidents and development of solutions to address those risks
• Ability to use regulatory database systems for required reports
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Science, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of Environmental Science leadership
• Two (2) years' experience in industrial manufacturing facility with Title V air emissions
• Strong regulatory experience with MSHA/OSHA.

Compensation and benefits
• Salary is between $87K and $139K annually.
• Local incentive target of 5%
