What you will do-

We are currently seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Manager to support EHS compliance of Stryker's manufacturing facility located in Cary, Illinois. In coordination with the business leaders and applicable EHS partners in the businesses, this role coordinates and oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of the environment health and safety program for the manufacturing operation.

Additional Responsibilities :
  • Oversee the duties of one direct report (an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist) with possible additional reports in the future
  • Lead the development of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of Environmental, Health and Safety program, processes, and training including compliance with safety regulations and investigations of incidents
  • Create and update environmental health and safety policies and procedures applicable to operations and employees in a manufacturing facility (injury and illness prevention, incident analysis, training, emergency response, ergonomics and contractor safety provide training and interpret and update SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance and coordinate with applicable businesses, including but not limited to- Stryker, OSHA, EPA, and DOT
  • Identify, implement, and track necessary corrective actions in the root cause analysis of safety incidents and potential safety incidents
  • Be a visible and dynamic champion of EHS. Play a pivotal role in building the influence and impact of EHS as a strategic partner to the businesses. Provide technical and regulatory expertise to senior leaders to ensure that the businesses comply with applicable laws, conforms to company standards, and utilizes best industry practices to manage safety risks to people, property, and the environment.

What you need-
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 8 years professional experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Prior direct supervisory experience required
  • Experience in developing and executing training programs required
  • Knowledge of process design and implementation, change control, auditing, SOP development, document management and risk management systems required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and federal/state/local programs for EHS required
  • Experience in GMP operations - preferred
  • Professional certification (e.g. Certified Safety Professional or Manager, Certified Safety Manager, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) - preferred
  • EHS experience within a manufacturing facility strongly- preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001- preferred
