WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE The Environmental Compliance Support and Administrator makes sure that the company's documentation and recordkeeping complies with the various environmental issues such as emissions, waste disposal, chemical use, pollution, and reporting and permitting. The Environmental Compliance Support and Administrator role is responsible for ensuring that required regulatory standards are being met by scheduling system checks as defined by policy/procedure, reporting on the outcome of system checks and where appropriate, notifying management of adjustments required to ensure compliance. This position is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and updating environmental regulatory reports and keeping superiors apprised of compliance status. The position will obtain, update, and maintain environmental management system documentation, e.g., process, policies, and standard operating procedures. The position will analyze technical and scientific data vs. regulatory requirements and do quality control checks to ensure compliance. Monitor the progress of environmental S.O.P.'s, and process improvement initiatives. This position will collaborate with the EHS team, environmental consultants, and vendors to identify and address environmental opportunities, and environmental compliance/sustainability. The position reports to the EHS Department and interfaces as needed with legal, engineering, operations, human resources, and all employees.
  • Coordination and administration of environmental policies, programs, and procedures enterprise wide
  • Sharing environmental and regulatory compliance related information as required to maintain compliance
  • Administer and maintain environmental contracts with all environmental vendors used for transportation, recycling, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes
  • Ensure all environmental compliance requirements are being met for all applicable permits and all permits are maintained in a compliant status
  • Complete all government environmental reports in a timely manner and submit reports to proper agencies
  • Create a tracking calendar to check with all locations to ensure they submit monthly, quarterly, annual reports, e.g., wastewater reports, etc.
  • Track and document hazardous material inventory
  • Maintain hazardous material management plans
  • Coordinate the completion of hazardous waste manifests and file for reference as needed
  • Coordinate and ensure the proper documentation of compliance issues for air emissions
  • Maintain knowledge of Hazardous Ag Material (HAM) shipping and receiving requirements and ensure compliance
  • Maintain storm water pollution prevention, spill prevention and countermeasures control, waste management and spill control plans and corresponding documentation
  • Maintain an inventory of pesticides and hazardous materials, and working with EHS to ensure appropriate training; track applicable training for reference and retrieval as needed
  • Evaluate environmental exposure information covered by environmental standards or associated hazards via research, etc.
  • Track Hazardous Materials/Wastes shipment, disposal and waste recycling operation utilizing internal waste tracking database
  • Utilize a continuous improvement approach to provide internal environmental compliance support


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3- 5 years' experience working with environmental health/safety issues.
  • BS in Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • Process Safety Management (PSM) experience is a plus


Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to climb, bend, and stretch.
  • Exposure to extreme heat and cold storage environment
  • Prolonged standing and walking


Workday & Shift:
  • 1st shift (8:00am-4:30pm) when business requires, before/after hours may be mandatory
