Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Geologist for employment within our Environmental Remediation Practices group in the Long Beach, CA office to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in environmental and remediation system field data collection including drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection. In addition, the candidate will have experience in data management and technical report production. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for this role. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and productively in a collaborative team-environment, foster team building through inclusion and mentorship, display a high level of organization and communication, and demonstrate a strong desire to learn from Project Managers. Tasks will include: Manage field-based tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs.Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks, and able to communicate with PMs.Project Management tasks including budgeting, schedule and scope development and tracking. Data management, evaluation and report writing with experience drafting environmental investigation and closure reports. Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Soil Scientist, or closely related field.
  • 6 years of experience in environmental consulting and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid driver's license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 8+ years of experience in environmental consultingTask management or project management experience.
  • Strong technical writing skills40-Hour HAZWOPER training.

  • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $78,404.27 - $145,047.91.
