Job Description:
Morphimmune is seeking talented and highly motivated individuals with a strong background in cancer cell biology to join our chemistry team in the pursuit of novel targeted effector small molecules to treat cancer. The successful candidate will engage in rational structure-activity based drug discovery enabled by computational, structural and functional biology. Specifically, this individual will identify, characterize, and validate cancer targets of interest and characterize biology profile of targeted effector molecules to support drug discovery and development. As a member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary project team, this person will collaborate with a broad group of scientists within Morphimmune and with external collaborators. Additionally, they will contribute effectively to patent and report writing.

Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in cancer biology or related field with 3-5 years of industry experience
- High level of creativity and productivity with strong biology problem-solving skills and expertise in target discovery and/or validation
- Expertise in functional assays to assess target biology and support structure-activity based drug discovery of targeted small molecules
- Strong working knowledge of protein-ligand interactions and experience in partnering closely with computational chemists to support the appropriate use of computational tools, models, and visualization applications
- Solid track record of innovation and impact on programs, with direct contributions to company pipelines (including both successful advances and smart terminations)
- Excellent knowledge of cancer biology principles and functional assays with a solid understanding of target biology, pharmacology, and ADME. Able to effectively integrate this knowledge and apply the key principles of cell biology, literature precedent, and drug design to direct biology efforts to support program level go/no-go decisions
- Strong skills in gathering, documenting, and analyzing information from competitive sources such as patents and meetings and using this information to guide program biology strategy
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present the rationale, key data, issues, and accomplishments of the biology efforts to other members of the department and leadership
