Your Role:

The Head of Health, Safety & Environment will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the health, safety, and environmental programs of the company. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the biotech industry and be able to provide strategic leadership and guidance to the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the health, safety, and environment team, ensuring effective collaboration across all functions of the company.
  • Lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies, including hazard assessments and control measures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to employees on health, safety, and environmental topics.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies.
  • Manage the company's emergency response and crisis management plans.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to ensure the company's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and report on health, safety, and environmental performance metrics, and provide regular updates to senior management.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the biotech industry.
  • Experience working with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene, hazardous materials, and waste management.
  • Certification in safety, health, and environmental programs is preferred.
