OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

The Cell Engager Team of the Oncology Drug Discovery Unit is looking for an enthusiastic in vivo lab-based Senior Research Associate to support the in vivo and ex vivo characterisation of antibodies and immune engagers within the Cell Engager portfolio. The candidate will Contribute to pre-clinical projects by developing well-defined in vivo experiments and projects within oncology research. The candidate must have a strong foundation in in vivo oncology models and will be responsible for critical path activities with demonstrated in vivo skills in immuno-oncology drug discovery. The candidate will play a critical role in supporting key pipeline programs tied to various immune engaging mechanisms. The position will require the individual to be hands-on. The individual will collaborate and demonstrate effective communication and documentation of results with key stakeholders in the ODDU (IOI, C2H) GB, DSRE, DMPK, Translational teams and CTI. Provides theoretical/conceptual input to the design, development and execution of well-defined projects within the area of expertise. The candidate should be proficient at processing tissues and cells for exvivo evaluation. The role is laboratory-based within a dynamic cross-functional R&D team. The selected candidate will be expected to conduct lab assignmens and protocols; contributes to design of and implementation of improvements for routine procedures. The candidate will contribute to experimental design and complex problem resolution within project scope and perform research lab assignments independently.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Independently design and complete in vivo experiments with a primary focus on efficacy, PK and MOA studies in a range of models (syngeneic, xenograft)
Perform standard and complex in vivo procedures, such as dosing all routes, tissue necropsy, and tumor inoculation and measurements
Analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data to important partners, and play an active role in the subsequent scientific discussions leading to important decisions and program-ensuring next steps

Initiate investigation of new experimental approaches to specific problems using scientific theory, data from external partners, and technical literature
Help with external collaborations with CROs and establish new protocols
Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize workload
Prepares and presents comprehensive technical or project reports and formal presentations
Maintain laboratory notebooks and follow laboratory practices in compliance
Contributes to IND report and documentation.

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of currently assigned research methods
Understands why a series of experiments is selected
Demonstrates basic knowledge of science/technology outside specific discipline
Recognizes problems and considers the significance of irregularities
Leads dveelopment of new in vivo models and communicates with broader team
Present and analyze data that can be decisional
May participate in project team meetings.
Interact with key stake holders as needed to accomplish task
Receives highlevel instructions on all work; acts independently to determine methods on new assignments; provides guidance and may oversee junior staff

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

MS in Cancer Biology, Immunology or related field with 2+ years experience; BS in a scientific discipline (or equivalent) with 4+ years experience
Hands on in vivo experience is a must, with ability to dose animals via multiple routes, perform necropsies, and collection of tissues/cells for exvivo analysis.
Previous experience working in biotech or industry is preferred.
Good understanding of immunology/T cell biology and previous experience in immuno-oncology is preferred.
Strong mastery of techniques with efficiency and attention to detail.
Proven ability to learn and apply new skills quickly as well as organize, prioritize, and support multiple research projects. High performance both independently and on a team.
Prior experience with biologics/ antibodies/bispecifics is preferred especially in the context of in vivo studies. .
Previous experience performing cell-based assay techniques such as imaging-based assays and flow cytometry.

Base Salary Range: 79,800.00 to 114,000.00 Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
