AGCS is seeking a Summer Intern to work with our GBO NA team in our New York office

The intern will collaborate with the GBO North America Management Team. The internship program is designed to provide the intern with an opportunity to apply business concepts in the real world by working side-by-side with Operations professionals across the span of North America and multiple Lines of Business. Interns will participate in a wide range of learning and development opportunities including job shadows, attendance at internal meetings, speaking engagements, and events designed to expose the intern to other areas of AGCS. The intern role in GBO will work alongside and engage with GBO employees as well as Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and other AGCS professionals allowing a unique exposure to a multifaceted workforce and diverse professional experience.

Operations

Exposure to and participation in the day to day span of tasks and activities within the Global Business Operations span of control. Participation in discussions and meetings pertaining to typical " run the business" activities and potential strategic topics/project work.

Special Projects

Participation in ongoing projects in a contributory role. Intern participation level and topic area are to be defined in tandem with the respective line manager. The Line Manager and Intern will look to match project selection to the intern's goals for professional and career development where possible.

On the Job Learning

Participate in a wide range of learning and development activities focused on immersing the intern in various policy life cycle journeys while gaining exposure to the multiple demands, risks, and activities that GBO is matriculated in and the services it provides to the business customers alike.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations including a strong working knowledge of Excel and other MS office applications
  • Ability to apply field of study learnings to the internship
  • Application of Analytical skills for the purpose of efficiency estimation
  • Foundational knowledge of Organizational structure and concepts of Management of People or Projects
  • A self-starter with the ability to work as a team member in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Organizational Structure, Project Management or another related field of study.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Additional Company Details: The company offers a pay rate of $20 per hour for this internship. This is a Full time 10 week Summer Internship which will begin in early June 2023.
