The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail orientated, life-long learner with strong technical expertise in molecular biology, proteomics, and mass spectrometry. The successful candidate will have the technical and problem-solving skills to create biological tools and conduct proteomic experiments to address challenging questions in exploratory drug discovery. As a member of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary group, the individual will have the opportunity to participate across a broad range of exciting scientific endeavors across several disease areas.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and execution of studies interrogating protein-protein interactions, chemo-proteomics, signaling and homeostasis at the proteome-wide scale.
  • Generate bespoke assays for classically difficult to measure proteins to enable target discovery, hit validation, biomarker and mechanism of action studies.
  • Prepare and process samples for complex protein workflows, including enrichment, fractionation, and digestion.
  • Generate and maintain cell lines with modified genes of interest, including tags, overexpression, and knockouts.
  • Execute, maintain, and develop proteomic workflows.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary matrix environment, collaborating on shared scientific questions, communicating ideas, plans and results.
  • Organize, record, and report results according to data integrity guidelines.

Education and Experience:
  • Ph.D. in life sciences with 0-3 years or MS with 3+ years or BS with 6+ years of relevant hands-on experience in protein peptide mass spectrometry and molecular biology.
  • Experience with target centric proteomics and associated tools for deconvoluting PPIs, mechanism of action, chemoproteomics, and systems biology questions.
  • Well-rounded molecular biology toolkit including: CRISPR, transient transfection, generating stable cell lines, protein tagging, Western blotting, etc.
  • Hands-on liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation experience, including method design, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Experience with quantitative analysis of mass spectrometry software such as Skyline, Proteome Discoverer, Maxquant and MsFragger.
  • Self-driven ability to organize resources and data, manage time and priorities.
  • The ability to communicate ideas and updates clearly and concisely across a variety of audience levels.
  • Articulate in cell and molecular biology, analytical quantification, and drug discovery concepts.
