Position overview
Salary range: The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment. The current full-time salary range for this position is $64,329-$181,015.

Percent time: 11%-100% depending on assigned teaching responsibilities.

Position duration: Summer sessions vary in length.

Position description

The College of Environmental Design (CED) at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified instructors to teach studio and non-studio courses for the CED Summer Programs in the following areas: architecture, city planning, urban design, landscape architecture and digital media, should an opening arise. Screening of applicants will primarily take place in the spring semester for a summer appointment, and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies, depending upon the needs of CED Summer Programs.

General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and using Cal's electronic resources for course management. New lecturers will also be expected to participate in a teaching workshop.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree at time of application.

Preferred qualifications
Advanced degree (Master's degree or equivalent international degree); or a professional degree or equivalent international degree where applicable.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent international degree, in one of the following concentrations such as: Architecture, Landscape Architecture, City & Regional or Urban Planning, Economics, Business, Real Estate, Law.
Teaching experience.
5 years of work experience since degree.
