Baker Hughes Bently Nevada offers a holistic suite of machine condition monitoring and protection hardware, software, and services. We help ensure you achieve the highest level of asset reliability. Our team takes ownership of implementation of HSE programs for the Minden, NV Headquarters.

Partner with the best

As Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, you will support HSE at the Minden Facility. This role includes implementation of HSE programs, risk mitigation projects, OSHA VPP efforts. This role requires communicating with all levels of the organization and requires employee to spend time on the manufacturing floor.

As Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing individuals day-to-day HSE support on the manufacturing floor
  • Advising functional managers regarding HSE approaches, processes, and procedures
  • Providing technical expertise and compliance support
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and practices, and assist in responding to significant incidents and government requests/notices
  • Providing leadership and guidance in driving for excellence certification. This includes introduction or maintenance of OSHA VPP programs
  • Coordinating and conducting compliance audits/reviews of site work areas and coach personnel on identified improvement opportunities and closure of findings/recommendations
  • Coaching colleagues enabling them to successfully fulfill their HSE leadership responsibilities
  • Evaluating program effectiveness and implement strategies and tactics to meet business expectations
  • Sustaining programs, tools, and training to ensure compliance with legal requirements and implementation of Baker Hughes HSE Management System (MS)

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field (i.e., engineering)
  • 4+ years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental role(s) or closely related field.
  • Have the ability to communicate well with others
  • Have interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Have the ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Have leadership initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Have the ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification and solution skills.
