Position: Environmental Health Supervisor
Department: Special Services
Office: Environmental Health

Hours: Full-time, M - F 8 am - 4:30 pm
Starting Salary: C43/1 $29.95 - $33.39/Hour (mid-range)
$62,296 - $69,451.20/Annual
**salary commensurate with experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health or degree in the Physical, Natural, or Biological Sciences which meet the educational requirements set forth by the Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4736 Environmental health specialists.
Current Ohio Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS); three years' experience as a REHS II or graduate degree in environmental, public health, or related degree.
Current valid Ohio driver's license & access to a motor vehicle
Required to play an active role during a public health emergency, crisis, outbreak, incident, or event in which the Health Commissioner deems additional changes in responsibilities and working locations/ hours.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Supervises and coordinates activities of REHS's; Assigns duties, examines work, determines procedures, resolves work problems in a variety of State and local mandated programs including Water and Sewage, Rabies & Nuisance, Solid Waste, Lead Abatement & Source Water/Wellfield protection.
Recommends personnel action, conduct staff meetings, provides for training/orientation of staff
Acts as technical resource
Accompanies staff on field visits to provide administrative support when necessary and/or evaluate staff field performance quarterly or monthly dependent upon staff status.
Responds to request for assistance and/or consultation from various groups including the public, industry, government, and other staff
Provides for the coordination of environmental- borne infectious disease investigation.
Accomplishes special project as necessary
