Position Summary

The Associate of Business Development will be responsible for solar and solar + storage asset opportunity and channel partnership research and engagement, new market analysis, supporting external outreach and internal data management and reporting. This role will report to the Director, Business Development and support the purpose of getting new opportunities into exclusivity. This position is expected to have solar or solar and storage business development experience, and have experience researching and working with data sets to support external outreach and internal reporting.

Essential Responsibilities

General:
  • Support early-stage Solar opportunities through extensive research and target list development
  • Monitor new opportunities coming to market and market trends; utilize internal and external resources to find and identify new Solar prospects
  • Cold or warm outreach to prospects via phone, email, networking, etc. and regular communication and follow-up with leads
  • Provide target outreach for Senior BD members and assist in setting up meetings
  • Research, facilitate and coordinate outreach campaigns prior to BD-attended events
  • Track key industry developments, and apply to the company's origination strategy
  • Critical thinking, an innovative mindset, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment are required
  • Position can be remote or NYC based
  • Some travel is expected

CRM:
  • Manage Salesforce quarterly and ad-hoc pipeline reporting for the BD Leadership Team
  • Input and maintain Business Development Salesforce entries: projects, opportunities, accounts & contacts
  • Data analysis to support Business Development team - tracking outreach and KPIs
  • Maintain Internal Business Development Salesforce Dashboard and report out weekly
  • Populate SalesForce Opportunities, including occasional outreach to developers
  • Bulk upload leads and contacts to salesforce

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; or Associate's degree + equivalent experience

Technical Skills and Experience
  • 2-4 years Renewable Energy experience required with preferred experience in Solar Business Development, Project Finance, or Research & Data Analysis
  • Intermediate competency and experience with Excel
  • Experience pulling CRM reports and tracking Progress and KPIs
  • Experience cold calling with diligent follow up
  • Experience with Salesforce strongly preferred
