Job Description
Microbiology Team Leadresponsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • In addition to and in conjunction with the employee's existing job description and under the supervision of laboratory management, they shall perform the following activities:
  • Serves as a resource for technologist and department management
  • Provides leadership in the department as an acting mentor and role model for staff
  • Serves as a department-related content subject matter expert
  • Establishes priorities in work to be done and assigns specific activities to technologist
  • If applicable, directs internal proficiency/competency program according to regulatory standards and operating procedures
  • Resolves service-related issues and coordinates information and problem solving with lab manager, staff and clients in a timely fashion
  • Communicates problems to supervisor
  • Providing input on employee performance to manager as directed for employee reviews
  • Oversees the operation of the laboratory which includes but is not limited to supply inventory, ordering, and maintaining the work area
  • Serves as a liaison for the department to other internal departments
  • Assists in making sure policies and procedures are followed and that training is complete for all staff members
  • Aides in implementing changes and corrective action to help with process improvement
  • Assists with personnel management including but not limited to scheduling, minor conflict resolution, training, and competency
  • Interfaces with auditors
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Supports Eurofins DPT's business philosophy, leadership values, and ethics
  • In order to meet Eurofins DPT's quality policy and objectives, all employees are expected to meet basic expectations of Eurofins DPT's quality management system including, but not limited to good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training,good documentation practices, and accurate recordkeeping.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology form an accredited institution
  • If required by the State in which the laboratory is located, the appropriate State License to perform clinical laboratory testing

Basic Minimum Work Requirements:
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience
  • At a minimum must meet Technologist II criteria
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in the applicable department
  • Knowledge of the principles applicable to the facility and regulated laboratory testing industry
  • Ability to instruct subordinates and delegate tasks
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures
  • Strong communication skills & analytical thinking
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • This laboratory carefully maintains all hazardous materials. All employees must abide by Eurofins DPT's Safety and Exposure Procedures. This includes using the provided safety clothing and equipment.
