Postdoctoral Researcher - microRNA Cardiovascular Biology

SUMMARY:

We are seeking an enthusiastic postdoctoral scientist with expertise in microRNA (miRNA) biology to join the CardioRenal Drug Discovery group, a multi-disciplinary team of energetic researchers. The successful candidate will work on the exploratory project of utilizing oligonucleotides to modulate miR-mediated target expression. He/She will work independently to conceptualize, design and execute experiments using human iPSC-CMs and rodent models. Background in RNA biology and molecular biology are essential for the position. Experience with iPSC-CMs is a plus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, execute and troubleshoot experiments relevant to the postdoctoral project
  • Generate in vitro models using iPSC-CMs or rodent primary cardiomyocytes
  • Analyze and present results at both internal and external scientific meetings
  • Prepare manuscript for publication

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ph.D. with 0-3 years of postgraduate experience in molecular biology or related fields
  • Strong laboratory skills in standard assays such as RNA and protein isolation, RT-qPCR, ELISA, Western Blotting
  • Hands-on experience with miRNA research modalities (isolation, quantification, immunoprecipitation, affinity assay, luciferase reporter assay, etc)
  • Experience with gene editing (CRISPR) or cardiomyocyte culture (primary and/or iPSC-CMs) is a plus
  • Proficiency in rodent handling, dosing and necropsy is a plus but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
