Responsibilities :
Department and Location: This position is part of the Development Communications team within EDF's Development Department. This position location is flexible, with opportunity for a fully remote or hybrid work schedule based out of EDF's offices in New York, Raleigh, Washington D.C, or London. Candidates may also be based in Belgium, the Netherlands, or Germany. The Manager of Global Markets, Development Communications reports to the Director of Development Communications. Overall Function The Manager of Global Markets, Development Communications will collaborate across the Development team to craft donor-facing materials that cultivate, solicit and steward funding for EDF's critical priorities in China, Europe and India. Working closely with colleagues located in Europe, Asia and North America, the manager will write and edit proposals, reports, briefings, letters of inquiry and other materials for a range of funders, including high-net-worth individuals, foundations and government entities. Key ResponsibilitiesUtilizing exceptional writing and editing skills, draft compelling, high-quality, polished documents (including, but not limited to, proposals, reports, briefings, letters of inquiry and summary documents) for funders giving to projects in China, Europe and India, drawing from multiple sources. Identify needs for donor materials, including assessing and resolving gaps and other issues in program content, framing and donor positioning.Partner with program and executive leadership across our global organization to match strategic vision and approach with donor requirements and stipulations. Act as bridge between EDF's global work and donors, effectively translating program verbiage and data into appropriate language for donor communications.Project manage document and process flow, at times involving multiple programs and stakeholders.Ensure deadlines are met with high-quality products.Communicate and collaborate effectively and extensively with development and program staff in carrying out tasks and responsibilities, including with geographically-dispersed colleagues.Participate in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values. QualificationsBachelor's degree with a preferred background in environmental studies/science/ English/communications or other relevant major.Minimum of six (6) years demonstrated success in nonprofit grant writing.Experience working with funders and/or government agencies in Europe or Asia.Fluency in English; fluency in Chinese a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent strategic thinking and project management skills.Knowledge of environmental issues and/or related science issues strongly preferred.Ability to quickly grasp and translate complicated subject matter.Outstanding interpersonal skills, working well with a wide range of colleagues across geographies.Passion for gaining insights and translating them into effective communications with associated action plans.Experience developing and implementing communications plans in cooperation with diverse stakeholders that are high visibility.Hands-on experience building and executing on communication strategies that leverage multiple channels to achieve goals with measurable results.Well-organized self-starter able to work as a strong team player, as well as independently.Self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.An understanding of, and commitment to, Environmental Defense Fund's mission.Please include a Cover Letter with your submission.

Pay Ranges:
We offer a strong total rewards package encompassing competitive salary, robust benefits, and professional development opportunities consistent with a modern global organization. We take into account factors such as candidate experience, skills, training, internal team equity and local norms.The pay range for this role is shown below. Please note that pay ranges are country specific. As a result, the stated currency is not meant be converted into any other currency.

Minimum Salary:
USD $90,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary:
USD $98,000.00/Yr.
