To support our growth in Southern California, we are seeking entry-level Environmental Planners to contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple tasks with all levels of staff. This position would support energy sector projects within the greater Southern California line of business.

Environmental Planners at ICF have an opportunity to gain exposure to a range of projects, interact with experts in a variety of fields, while building content knowledge and consulting skills. Our Southern, CA offices provide environmental planning and management services to both public and private sector clients. Currently, staff in the region offer a variety of services, including:
  • Environmental impact analysis in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Permitting and environmental compliance in accordance with agency regulations.
  • Strategic communications, impact assessments, natural and cultural resource surveys, air quality and noise modeling, and policy analysis for private entities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Associate degree in environmental studies, natural or physical science, public policy, environmental management, or related subjects.
  • 1 year of related experience working within a complex team environment, supervising or mentoring to more junior staff, and developing process improvements to enhance product delivery.

Additional Skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; experience with software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project desirable.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiative.
  • Interest in supporting a wide variety of projects which may include energy distribution and transmission, environmental desktop review of utility operations and maintenance activities and renewable energy clients regulatory permitting.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is
$53,200.00 - $90,440.00San Diego, CA (CA74)
