Description

Minimum starting pay for this onsite, exempt position is $56,638 and will commensurate experience.

The Environmental Compliance Coordinator works independently to maintain various environmental plans and programs in response to changing regulatory mandates, interacts with regulatory agencies, airport employees, consultants, and tenants to promote environmental compliance. The primary responsibilities are as follows:

Coordinates environmental compliance programs and ensures compliance through audits, assessments and training
Leads TAIT in community sustainability program and supports safety and recycling programs
Coordinates handling of hazardous materials and waste, environmental response plans, and spill and remediation actions
Performs field inspections and collects environmental samples

Requirements

Education & Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in environmental management, chemistry or other science related fields; one (1) year of experience related to environmental issues; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Considerable knowledge of federal, state and local laws, codes and interpreting regulations pertaining to environmental compliance standards across multiple environmental disciplines.

Physical Requirements: Physical requirements include arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use a keyboard and telephone; occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds; occasional pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds; may be subject to walking, standing, sitting, reaching, balancing, bending, kneeling, handling, feeling, climbing, smelling, and twisting; and vision, speech and hearing sufficient to perform the essential tasks.

Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid driver's license; ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge; obtain certification of OSHA 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operator Response Training and applicable license with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality within six (6) months of hire. A Class "B" Water Works or Waste Water Works Lab License is preferred.

Working Environment: Working environment is both indoors in an office setting and outdoors in any type of weather.
