Specialist - Environmental, Health and Safety

Position Summary:

In concert with Catalent's Patient First philosophy and Corporate social responsibilities, the Environmental, Health and Safety department ensures compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements to provide an environment that is safe and secure for employees, visitors and contractors.

This is a full- time, salaried, position: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for the implementation of environment, health and safety programs for the Madison, WI facility. The Specialist works with all departments to ensure safety is incorporated in the daily work plans and schedules and ensures compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements.

The Role:
  • Draft necessary standard operating procedures (SOPs) covering Environmental, Health and Safety related activities.
  • Provide training on Environmental, Health and Safety procedures and policies.
  • Co-Lead the safety committee members through scheduling monthly meetings and help conduct monthly site audits.
  • Co-Lead the safety committee to develop metrics for measuring audit response time and establishing timelines for implementing various Environmental, Health and Safety programs.
  • Ensure contractor Environmental, Health and Safety compliance and work with various departments.
  • Conduct incident reporting with workers compensation and annual reporting to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Other duties as assigned.


The Candidate:
  • M.S./M.A. in Environmental Health and Safety, or related field, with no prior experience; OR
  • B.S./B.A. in Environmental Health and Safety or related field, with minimum of 3 years' experience; OR
  • Associates Degree in EHS, or related field, with minimum of 4 years' experience in related field,
  • Experience with OSHA reporting requirements
  • Experience with familiarity of risk assessments
  • Experience with current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) regulations, documentation, and requirements
  • Experience with hazardous waste management
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
