NRDC is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization. We use law, science, and the support of 3.1 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure the rights of all people to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities. NRDC was founded in 1970 and our people helped write some of America's bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act and many of the implementing regulations. Today, our team of more than 700 lawyers, scientists, economists, policy advocates, communications experts, and others work across the United States and the globe from our offices in Bozeman, Montana; Chicago; New York; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Washington, D.C.; and Beijing. NRDC is seeking a India Clean Energy Senior Advocate to work with the India-International team in our Washington D.C. office. Position Summary NRDC is seeking a Senior Advocate on Clean Energy and Transportation to join the India team in our Washington, DC office. The Senior Advocate will provide technical, policy, research, and program management support to fulfil NRDC's mission in India. The Senior Advocate will be a part of NRDC's India Program and coordinate with experts, partners, and stakeholders in India. This position will work on supporting India's climate goals on clean energy and clean transportation, as well as building global awareness of the research, analysis, and impact of NRDC's work in India.

Responsibilities:
Provide expertise to advance NRDC's work in India on renewable energy, green finance, clean energy jobs and skills, electric vehicles, and clean transportationLead and contribute to impactful outreach materials (e.g. blogs, memos, issue briefs, and reports) that support India's efforts to shift to renewables deployment and decarbonization, in collaboration with NRDC experts in IndiaWrite research pieces and review written materials on NRDC's focus issue areas in India including clean energy, clean transportation, and climate policyManage and increase coordination efforts within NRDC program and institutional capacities to support India program goals and strategiesRepresent NRDC's India Program through organizing and participating on expert panels, stakeholder meetings, webinars, and conferences.Collaborate with NRDC's Development team to develop funding strategies, secure additional funding, and ensure timely reporting to donorsCollaborate with NRDC's experts across programs including clean vehicles, science office, renewable energy, green finance center and othersHelp increase the focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in NRDC's India work

Qualifications:

For this position, the salary is $105,000 to $120,000. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
