Medical Technologist, Microbiology

Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of the Medical Technologist, Microbiology position is to independently perform routine and complex laboratory analyses; assumes responsibility for procedural and system controls, problem solving, teaching and supervision, under direction. Provides physicians with accurate and reliable analytical results necessary for the diagnosis/treatment of patients.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related field; ASCP certification or equivalent preferred. Credentials required: Bachelor's Degree Primary source verification: American Society for Clinical Pathologist for those possessing the certification; University Hospital's designated Background Check Company PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires sitting, standing, walking and reaching two-thirds (2/3) of the time. Must have the ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds one third (1/3) of the time. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Moderate noise level.
