Job Description

Research Senior Scientist, RNA Molecular Biology

The candidate will have excellent RNA molecular biology skills with experience in post-transcriptional gene regulation.

As the Research Senior Scientist __RNA Molecular Biology, you will have excellent RNA molecular biology skills with experience in post-transcriptional gene regulation. You will work collaboratively with researchers across multiple functional groups within the DDS department, Takeda's Drug Discovery Units, and with contract research organizations (CROs). You will also have the opportunity to present work at national and international conferences.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develops and oversees cell-based screens including massively parallel reporter assays
  • Contribute to experimental design, execution, and data analysis
  • May manage junior staff
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with project team members
  • Proactively seeks solutions when encountering experimental obstacles
  • Contributes to functional scientific discussion


DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS
  • Demonstrated independent scientific and technical thought and creativity
  • Displayed method development skills and extensive hands-on experience working with RNA, cell based reporter assays, and post-transcriptional gene regulation.
  • Demonstrated leadership on a previous research team or project.
  • Demonstrated effective project engagement skills

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
  • PhD degree in Molecular Biology or related field with 3+ years experience, or
  • MS with 9+ years experience, or
  • BS with 11+ years experience
