Position Description
SG&R's Business Development team is looking to hire a Senior Business Development Manager, Climate Change to provide senior business development and marketing support for the SG&R technical unit with a particular technical focus on climate change. The Senior BD Manager's role will include gathering business intelligence; identifying, and developing clients, partners and contacts; supporting and leading business capture and proposal development; technical writing; and strategic networking and relationship building.

This position will report to the Associate Business Development Director and will be based in Washington, DC, or Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (RTI headquarters). Telecommuting arrangements will also be considered. The position will be expected to travel internationally up to 30% of the time. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities:
Lead business development activities for or in support of technical divisions and practice areas within SG&R, with a specific focus on work in climate change. This may include identifying, researching, and analyzing new opportunities; supporting business capture; and managing, leading, and writing proposals for work funded by USAID and other key donors and clients.Explore business opportunities related to climate change in key SG&R markets and advise on the selection of new capture markets over time.Identify and qualify key partner organizations and possible staff for climate change focused bids; and evaluate competitor activities. Represent SG&R to donors, private sector companies, foundations, and professional and voluntary associations, identifying synergies and developing partnerships and alliances as appropriate. Present and speak effectively on RTI's broader institutional capabilities.Participate in broad SG&R representation to clients and partners, as required in Washington DC or elsewhere to include active networking through RTI institutional memberships, attendance at work-related events, and promotion of RTI broadly in the international development community.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 10 years of experience.Minimum of 2 years working on business development and/or projects with a focus on climate change and/or resilience. Proven ability to effectively represent an organization and win new business, and experience leading or contributing to winning proposals for USAID. Experience with FCDO, Australian Aid or other key donors in the international development sector a plus. International field experience in developing countries preferred.Strong coordination and collaboration skills with proven experience applied in international context. Strong working knowledge of Salesforce and/or SharePoint preferred. Excellent skills in networking, presentation, and oral and written communication. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure and multi-task.

$120,000-$140,000
