Job Description
Aerotek is seeking to hire an Environmental Specialist; this is a field role onsite in a biopharmaceutical environment. This is a long-term, full time role with training, advancement, and career growth in the Environmental field.
Primary tasks include:
•Manage hazardous and chemical waste programs for clients onsite
•Execute onsite support services for the entire lifecycle of a hazardous materials management programs at client sites by performing chemical inventories, segregating chemicals, and shipping hazardous waste off-site
•Characterize, consolidate, pack, and ship hazardous waste
•Train clients on proper chemical safety and hazardous waste management
•Perform and document environmental health and safety audits for clients in their facilities and laboratories
•Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations as well as the company's Health and Safety Practices
•Respond to chemical spill emergencies by managing the containment, clean up, and disposal of hazardous materials
Skills & Qualifications:
2+ years working in field, disposal or remediation, or Degree in related field
Experience with hazmat disposal, chemical spill handling, or environmental health & safety preferred
Experience in customer-facing/customer service roles, or in team-based collaborative environments highly preferred
