Early is Good is seeking a Scientist, Molecular Biology to join our R&D team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in molecular biology, with experience in the performance and application of techniques used in clinical molecular diagnostic testing, such as DNA and RNA isolation, real-time PCR and qPCR, and DNA sequencing. A working knowledge of related molecular diagnostic techniques is also required.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced scientist to contribute to the development of non-invasive tests for the early detection and management of cancer.
Key responsibilities:
* Design and perform molecular biology experiments, with an emphasis on nucleic acid protein biology
* Independently evaluate and assess new methods, technologies, and processes
* Work with and guide research associates to develop new product innovation by helping design and execute experiments, collecting data, and analyzing results
* Screening assay validation and development, overseeing the execution
* Analyze data, interpret results, identify problems, and develop troubleshooting plans
* Present research findings internally and at scientific meetings/conferences
* Proactively review the scientific literature to identify and share new scientific findings, ideas, and methods with other scientists
Requirements:
* Recent Ph.D. graduates with strong publication records are encouraged to apply
* Ph.D. with 1-2 years of experience or M.S. with 5-7 years of experience in a high-complexity clinical laboratory preferred; industry experience is highly desired
* Strong background in molecular biology techniques, including synthetic biology applications and skills in PCR/qPCR primer/probe design, DNA/RNA extraction, bacterial and mammalian cell culture, NGS library preparation, gel electrophoresis, and recombinant DNA cloning
* Proficiency in CRISPR, ELISA, western blot, Simple Western, and multi-parameter flow cytometry analysis
* HPLC, protein expression, and QC analytical skills
