Wells College seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Environmental Science, with experience in aquatic ecosystems. We desire a colleague experienced in interdisciplinary, experiential pedagogy who will develop coursework and programming capitalizing on our unique, rural location on Cayuga Lake. A Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a related field is required by the time of appointment. The qualified candidate would teach introductory courses in the Environmental Sciences including Introduction to Environmental Science, Conservation of Biodiversity, and upper division courses in Climate Systems and Limnology. The candidate would have the opportunity to develop courses and work collaboratively with members of our Sustainability major, Center for Sustainability and the Environment, as well as with colleagues in the arts and humanities, natural and social sciences.

A successful candidate will support research involving undergraduates and participate in service to the College. Applicants should provide evidence of innovative teaching, investigative learning, conscientious advising, and their own continuing intellectual vitality. Wells College is committed to fostering a diverse learning environment to prepare students for personal and professional success in an increasingly multicultural and global society. We are actively seeking to increase faculty and staff diversity. It is expected this professor will contribute to a culture of community and help strengthen relationships on and off campus.
