About this Position

Brightworks Sustainability is seeking an experienced, qualified Senior Consultant to join our Sustainable Organizations team and support our Corporate ESG work. The Senior Consultant position performs important business development, project and client management, supervisory, and technical tasks.

The role will support sustainability road mapping, process and tool development, optimization, and reporting around corporate sustainability and ESG frameworks. The employee filling this position will work closely with client project teams. This position reports to a Brightworks Sustainability Principal and will be working closely with Brightworks Sustainability Consultants, Senior Technical Specialists, and Analysts to support project needs.

Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a complementary field or sustainability project management/program management with at least 3 years of experience supporting projects related to corporate sustainability frameworks OR a minimum of 3 years of experience with the operations of buildings seeking improved sustainability performance
  • Skilled at using Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Undergraduate degree in corporate sustainability related field (engineering, sustainability, environmental science, business administration, finance, operations etc.)
  • Depth of knowledge on corporate sustainability, climate change, ESG topics and current trends
  • High attention to detail and quality of documentation?
  • High level of independence, ability to innovate, work under pressure and comfortable taking ownership and primary responsibility for deliverables
  • Candidates should have exposure and practice with corporate sustainability frameworks.


Preferred:
  • Accreditation and/or significant experience with corporate sustainability frameworks such as CDP, GRI, TCFD, GRESB, SBTi etc.
  • Specialized training or advanced degree in sustainability related field, engineering, environmental science, business administration, finance, operations, etc.
  • Work experience in GHG emissions or net zero target setting including but not limited to GHG emissions calculations, target setting (2030, 2050 goals), emissions reduction plans, SBTi, etc. Scopes 1, 2 and 3 a plus.
  • Demonstrated success implementing environmental sustainability programs by devising and executing data-driven, analytical, and strategic solutions


Responsibilities:
  • Deliver work to clients within scope, on-budget, on-schedule, and in the "Brightworks way".
  • Supervise, oversee, and mentor internal team members so that they develop the knowledge, skills, and capabilities to deliver projects within scope, on-budget, and on-schedule.
  • Supports the firm's practice development through management, technical expertise, collaboration on firm innovation, and matching industry leadership in sustainability with client needs.
  • Supports client development, building and maintaining relationships which produce business opportunities for our services.
  • Foster honest, productive communications throughout the entire firm to support project delivery, business development and operations.
  • Support the development of efficient and effective firm operations.


This person will have the ability to evaluate complex projects for compliance with corporate sustainability program goals and performance thresholds and communicate results in clear and convincing presentations.

This position may be filled in any of our Brightworks Sustainability office locations. Please indicate your desired office location in your cover letter.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $76,800 - $144,000 per year. Starting pay offered varies depending on geographic region, external market value, internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Starting salary offers will typically be made in the bottom half of the listed range. In compliance with Equal Pay for Equal Work Acts, a potential new employee's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.?
