***POSITION TITLE: Sr. Scientist, In Vivo Biology (Tumor Cell Targeting Research Unit)***

DURATION: 9 MONTHS
100% On Site
SHIFT: Standard 1st shift

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled in vivo scientist to join the in vivo pharmacology team within GSK's Tumor Cell Targeting (TCT) Research Unit located in Upper Providence, PA. The mission of the TCT RU is to selectively target cancer cells to deliver transformational anti-cancer efficacy with a positive therapeutic index by leveraging a variety of therapeutic modalities including, but not limited to, small molecules and antibodies. In this laboratory-based position, you will participate in drug discovery program teams where you will design, conduct, interpret, and present the results of in vivo preclinical studies thus making important contributions to the drug discovery and translational medicine efforts in support of TCT RU programs.
This position will provide these opportunities:
• build understanding and contribute to in vivo pharmacology for oncology drug discovery
• acquire practical experience conducting in vivo pharmacology studies (in vivo tumor model development, maximum tolerated dose (MTD), PK/PD relationship and efficacy) in mouse tumor models
• mature public speaking through presentation of experimental design, methods, and findings.
• summarize key scientific findings in regulatory reports and manuscripts
• partner and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• build leadership skills

Basic Qualifications:
• BS or MS with 1+ years of relevant industry or academic experience in in vivo oncology research
• Excellent mouse handling, dosing, caliper tumor measurements, and tissue sampling skills enabling the ability to independently conduct in vivo studies assessing tumor growth, efficacy, and PK/PD of pharmacological agents in xenograft models
• Attention to detail and proficient reasoning skills in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation
• Experience in adopting new methods and protocols related to in vivo and ex vivo experiments
• The candidate must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a matrix team environment
• Must have problem-solving abilities, be resourceful, be able to work in a fast-paced team environment, and be flexible about the role
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with syngeneic, orthotopic and/or humanized tumor models
• Experience with ex vivo tissue processing and aseptic cell culture technique (human and murine primary or/and cancer cell lines)
