Computational Biologist
Our client is a pharmaceutical start-up entering novel therapeutic space to develop new first-in-class drugs. Their targets are proteins that regulate post-transcriptional processing of coding and non-coding RNAs. Based on their rapidly advancing discovery programs they've secured $83M in Series A funding and are looking to expand our scientific staff. The labs are located in the Linx facility in Watertown, a modern, community-focused building catering to biopharma companies large and small.
They are looking for a full-time Computational Biologist to join the growing Computational Biology and Bioinformatics team. This individual will utilize their strong programming expertise to support the company's target discovery efforts. This role is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage, well-funded Biotech startup. You will initially report to the Director of Computational Biology. The position is flexible regarding on-site time, with the option to work remote part time, if desired. We are offering a competitive salary for an individual with the following qualifications and experience:
Responsibilities:
* Analyze RNA-seq, microRNA-seq, and single-cell RNA-seq data from our lead pre-clinical oncology program.
* Develop and manage our NGS analysis pipelines in the AWS cloud (e.g. using Docker, Bioconda, nf-core, and bcbio-nextgen).
* Contribute to development of an interactive cancer genomics visualization portal, incorporating resources from DepMap, cBioPortal, GTEx, and other public databases.
* Participate in and present updates at internal group meetings.
* Motivated individual, supporting the Head of Computational Biology
Qualifications:
* MS or PhD in a quantitative discipline.
* Familiar with Unix command line, Git, Docker, and the AWS cloud computing platform.
* Highly motivated, dependable, self-starter able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
