About The Job
We are currently seeking a full-time, experienced, and qualified Environmental Compliance Specialist II (4+ years' experience) to join our Colorado-based environmental compliance team. This position will provide comprehensive environmental compliance services to public and private-sector clients throughout the Mountain West Region. This position will work collaboratively with subject matter experts to conduct necessary fieldwork and oversee the preparation of environmental documentation to aide in the permitting and construction process. Deliverables will include critical issues analysis, land use permitting, biological and aquatic assessments, construction compliance reports, and environmental review documentation. This position will also work closely with project managers, clients, and subject matter experts to support permitting and construction compliance.

The ideal candidate will have experience with reporting on natural resources in the Mountain West Region and will possess professional skills associated with preparing land use entitlement and environmental documentation to regulatory agencies. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills are essential. This position will be based out of our Denver, Colorado office.

Pay range: $28.00 - $37.00 hourly

Duties and Responsibilities:

May be involved with all or a selection of the following, individually or as part of a team:

* Preparation and review of environmental documentation and land use entitlement packages requiring regulatory agency submittal.
* Engagement and coordination with multiple stakeholders including permittees, subject matter experts, and construction management personnel.
* Complete field inspections for multiple environmental resources including biology, stormwater, air quality, noise, etc.
* Assist in the preparation of proposals and scopes of work
* Must be willing to travel
* Other duties as needed or required.

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, land use planning, biology, or related field required.
* 4+ years' experience with environmental consulting, natural resource planning and conservation or related field.
* Basic understanding of NEPA compliance, land use entitlement, waters permitting, and NPDES regulations.
* Ability to travel and conduct field work throughout the country in potentially challenging terrain and/or inclement weather.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work efficiently and independently are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

* Construction monitoring experience.
* Experience with implementation of Mountain West Region regulations related to the management of resources during construction.
* Experience with land use entitlement on both private and public lands in the Mountain West Region.
* Experience with Mountain West Region regulations related to entitlement for complex infrastructure projects.
* Experience working with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) on field delineations and waters permitting applications including the submittal of preliminary and approved jurisdictional determinations.
