Job Description
Trinity in Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation's capital, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in biology beginning fall 2023.  The successful candidate will be nominated for designation as a Clare Boothe Luce Professor of Biology. Luce appointments offer qualified candidates exceptional support in teaching and scholarship directly related to the faculty member's field.

Trinity is one of the nation's historic women's colleges, now also a Predominantly Black and Hispanic Serving Institution. Approximately 900 women enroll in the College of Arts & Sciences, Trinity's full-time undergraduate program. Trinity has received significant support to develop expertise in pedagogy that reflects the practice of Inclusive Excellence in the sciences and other disciplines, and faculty candidates should be able to demonstrate familiarity with Inclusive Excellence principles and pedagogy.

The Biology program seeks outstanding candidates having expertise in the fields of Genetics and Molecular Biology, with significant interest and experience in working in the field of Bioinformatics. The position will include teaching innovative cross-disciplinary courses complementing existing programs across departments within the undergraduate women's college, the College of Arts and Sciences. The position will involve supporting undergraduate research. Responsibilities also include advising and mentoring students and supporting a curriculum aimed to foster inclusive excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Ph.D. in a field of Biology with expertise in genetics, molecular biology and bioinformatics. A successful candidate will have experience mentoring students and teaching with inclusive and high impact practices.
