Job Description

* Conduct quantitative real time PCR (qPCR) and Reverse Transcriptase-qPCR (RT-qPCR) in support of research, GLP, and GMP studies
* Assist with qPCR and RT-qPCR assay development
* Participate in GLP study bioanalysis conduct
* Contribute to and participate on non-clinical GLP qPCR and RT-qPCR validations, including planning and execution.
* Initiate and perform assigned research activities within established guidelines
* Articulate critical questions to improve outcomes within molecular biology function
* Independently crafts experiments/analyses based on data interpretations and conclusions.
* Guide the examination of standard procedures and improve current approaches
* Understand and follow GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) regulations
* Clearly communicate research and study data in peer reviewed manuscripts, technical reports, patent applications and internal/external presentations.
* Collect and collate results and inferences and report to project team and senior colleagues

Qualifications

M.S. with a minimum of 3 years of experience performing progressively advanced duties beyond a B.S. degree, or at least 4 years of experience performing progressively advanced duties at the appropriate Scientific level, or the equivalent training/experience

Experience/Special Skills

* Knowledge on qPCR and RT-PCR readers (Quantstudio and digital PCR) and automated liquid handlers (Hamilton, Qiagility, Viaflo etc.)
* Experience with extraction of DNA and RNA from animal, human tissues and biofluids by different homogenization and extraction methods (manual and automation)
* Experience with BSL2+ lab practices and able to work with infectious materials
* Prior experience with laboratory inventory management systems (LIMS) a plus.
