The EHS Technician will work with the Environmental Manager for the implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance program and operating procedures. Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs all work according to MSHA/OSHA and H&K safety policiesAssists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of hazard communications program(s) designed to inform and protect the employees, public and the environment of risks associated with products, materials, and chemicals utilized in the workplaceAssists in the development, collection and maintenance of the company hazard communication program, safety data sheets (SDS), materials, and chemicals maintained or utilized at H&K facilities. Assists with the development and provision of task specific training related to hazard communicationConducts industrial hygiene monitoring, including noise, dust and other respirable constituents of concern. Completes industrial hygiene monitoring reports and works with H&K personnel to reduce employee exposures, as needed.Assists with the development, implementation and maintenance of site and program specific health and safety plans addressing respirable silica, lead, and other risks as identified and designed to inform and protect the employees, public and environment of risks associated with products, materials, and tasks performed in the workplace. Performs facility and job site inspections, collecting objective data and field samples to determine if corrective actions or workforce protection are needed related to Silica, Lead, and other workplace products and chemicals.Assists in the development, monitoring and implementation of comprehensive Spill Prevention Countermeasure and Contingency (SPCC) and Preparedness, Contingency and Countermeasure (PPC) Plans. Participates and assists in spill reporting, response, and cleanup activities.Provides technical assistance in event of a spill or release of a regulated substance; identifies potential pollutant sources, determines potential impacts and liabilities, and recommends and assists in the implementation of corrective actions. Conducts field sampling of soil, water, and waste materials for laboratory analysis. Assists with the preparation of documents, forms, and reports related to field observations and laboratory results and compares them to relevant regulatory standards.Conducts NPDES water sampling and assists with regulatory reporting and permit applications.Operates Geoprobe soil sampling equipment to assist with soil characterization projects.Addresses inquiries while conducting field inspections at various company locations and assists in the preparation of action plans and policies to address those inquiries and concerns. Maintains working knowledge of new technologies, practices, standards and regulations developed by industry and government sources.Performs duties related to management of fill, including but not limited to, conducting site due diligence searches, sample collections, and report preparation.Maintains a positive and constructive attitude and strives to build upon relationships with internal personnel and external clientsOther duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
