WACKER SILICONES is one of the world's biggest silicone manufacturers with silicone-based system solutions and over 3,000 different products.
At our Adrian site, we are currently looking for a Environmental Lead to be a part of our growing team.

This position will be responsible for the implementation and documentation of effective environmental programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with company, state, federal, and local requirements. This position will establish and maintain environmental permits, registrations, and licenses; coordinate RC/ISO14001 program, with emphasis on employee participation; conduct audits of the facility and lead action item corrective action plans and facilitate site activities. This position at the Adrian site will interface with applicable State, Federal and Local regulatory agencies, as well as represent the organization in environmental related meetings; and provide technical advice to management and employees.

Job Responsibilities

Implement and document effective environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
Comply with State, Local and Federal regulations related to waste, air emissions, water reporting, SPCC, stormwater, and other environmental regulations.
Establish and maintain environmental permits, registrations, and licenses and complete and document ongoing reviews of changes to meet permit requirements.
Coordinate RC/ISO 14001 program, lead SWAP committee and aggregate and submit governmental agency, internal company and ACC reporting. Coordinate B-Grade Materials and scrap program and act as site liaison with Global By-Product Manager.
Interface with all applicable State, Federal and Local regulatory agencies
Represent the organization in environmental related meetings and liaison with local environmental organizations and other interested parties.
Provide technical advice and training to management and employees.
Facilitate the Adrian Wildlife Habitat and the Household Hazardous Waste Program. Site Ambassador for sustainability and other corporate environmental programs.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree
3+ years of experience in environmental management
Working knowledge of State of Michigan and EPA environmental requirements.
Knowledge of RC/ISO14001 Management System Programs
High Level of interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
High attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills
Project management skills
Proficient in office software.
Draft various operating documents, permits, etc.
Work in a chemical manufacturing environment
Preferred Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent degree
Sustainability and Remediation knowledge is a plus.
