Job Description
If you are looking for a new, exciting challenge in the fields of microbiology, mycology, and parasitology, Doctor's Data, Inc. is currently filling fulltime positions for Medical Technologists or Clinical Microbiologists in our clinical specialty laboratory.

Shifts Open:
  • Days 7AM-3:30PM M-F
  • Nights 2PM-10:30PM M-F
  • Flexible

The Medical Technologist performs comprehensive stool analyses and other testing by using their strong understanding of microbiology and state-of-the-art technology, including MALDI-TOF and molecular methods.

Responsibilities include:

· Interpret cultures for microorganism identification, using morphology and chemical tests

· Performs more complex and "non-routine" procedures

· Prepare sub-cultures for and interpret antimicrobial susceptibility testing

· Follow standard operating procedures in performing test analyses

· Operate and maintain standard and complex laboratory instrumentation

· Document tasks accurately and timely as part of good record-keeping

· Participate in the Quality Systems established

· Recognize problems and apply scientific methods to resolve

· Report to the microbiology supervisor immediately regarding problems

· Ensure that patient test results are only reported with the highest level of accuracy

· Follow all safety protocols; assure a safe and clean work environment

· May be required to train or give direction to technicians and/or lab assistants

· Performs additional duties as assigned

Equipment Utilized:
Biological safety cabinet, centrifuge, incubator, microscope, BioMIC®, MALDI-TOF analyzer.

Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree (BS) or higher, from an accredited clinical laboratory science program, or a BS or higher in Microbiology with 1 year minimum clinical experience in Microbiology and Parasitology. MT(ASCP) is preferred. Must meet regulatory requirements for high complexity testing.
