Job Description
AQUATIC SPECIALIST
Job Title: Aquatic Specialist - Full time / Immediate
Setting(s): Outdoors, Environmental Services Group
Location: Bordentown, New Jersey
Hours: Monday - Friday / 7:30am - 4pm (occasional late hours based on seasonal workload)
Reports to: Territory Manager
Job Summary:
This salaried position includes independent field work in pond management, invasive species control, and fountain/aeration service and maintenance throughout the Mid- Atlantic region. The work requires extensive daily travel with the occasional overnight stay. The successful candidate will work directly with an award-winning, nationally recognized team having more than 50 years of experience in the aquatics field.The successful candidate will work directly with territory managers daily to maintain pond/lake water quality of ponds primarily through the use of chemical, biological, and mechanical best management practices.
Primary job responsibilities will include the application of aquatic pesticides for nuisance aquatic weed and algae control, and water quality testing/analysis. Candidate will be expected to gather and compile water quality data for record keeping and submittal.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resource Management/related field (preferred); OR three (3) or more years of experience in a resource management field
o Course work in limnology, plant identification, and/or watershed management a plus
· Must obtain various Commercial Pesticide Applicator/ Operator licenses with specializations
· Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions and terrains
o Must be able to lift 75 pounds or greater
o Comfortable working in chest waders
o Should have some boating experience
o Small engine repair / shop knowledge is a plus
o Trailer towing is a plus
· General tablet, computer, and data management skills
· Must possess excellent communication, and organizational skills
· Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
