Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North Americas first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table. We are Americas first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels. Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane. Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida.

OVERVIEW

The position is located at our facilities in western Palm Beach County. Florida Crystals Corporation is a leading domestic sugar producer that owns over 100,000 acres of land on which it farms primarily sugarcane and rice. The company harvests and transports its crops to one of two sugar mills or its rice mill. Florida Crystals also operates a cane sugar refinery, a biomass renewable power plant, and packaging and distribution facilities in Palm Beach County.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 2 year program leading to wide ranging career opportunities
  • Assist the Environmental Compliance group at it supports the agricultural and industrial operations permit compliance, reporting, training and sustainable improvement initiatives.
  • Design, implement and/or manage effective monitoring programs for collection and reporting of air, water, wastewater, and other data.
  • Utilize data acquisition and management systems to compile, retrieve, and present environmental data for tracking performance.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, along with specific purpose compliance reports to be communicated directly to the county, Florida Department of Health, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, South Florida Water Management District, Department of Agriculture, US EPA and/or US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
  • Work with management, personnel and contractors in the permitting of new projects or for modifications of existing operations.
  • Assist with operations, monitoring, maintenance, and overseeing repair contractors for the public drinking water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants at five processing, maintenance and/or industrial facilities.

    WORK EXPERIENCES
  • Engineering, Industrial or information technology experience preferred.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors Degree in engineering, sciences, or IT.

  • Be able to physically work in industrial and agricultural field environments
  • Be legally eligible for employment in the United States without sponsorship
  • Capable of deciphering extensive state and federal regulations
  • Agreeable with work that requires attention to details to determine applicability of rules, and conformance with requirements and procedures.
  • Good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft software, data worksheets, and database management preferred.
