Director, Biology

Our client, a NYC & Boston-based pre-clinical stage biotech pioneering small molecule medicines for targeted protein stabilization, is seeking a Director of Biology with a strong background in biology/chemical biology to join their expanding high-profile team with the goal of advancing research programs from early discovery to proof-of-concept and beyond.

• Define biology strategy aligned with project goals / Drive projects forward
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines
• Communicate biology objectives, progress & challenges to key stakeholders
• Influence scientific and business decision-making (project selection and resource allocation)
• Contribute and collaborate with colleagues on patent filing, scientific publication and report writing

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in in Biology, Chemical Biology or similar
• Experience in drug discovery/development in a biotech/pharmaceutical setting
• Experience being the biology lead on multidisciplinary project teams
• Experience working in rare disease/ immunology/ oncology preferred
• Expert in performing cellular mode of action studies with small molecules, including experience in target engagement, cellular potency / selectivity, and evaluation of molecular interactions
• Strong publication record with proven track record of driving scientific projects of high quality
