Job Description:
We are searching for a motivated Chemist to join our technical team. This position requires a chemical background with a performance record demonstrating initiative and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing analyses with accuracy and precision, operating and maintaining analytical instruments, conducting multivariate experiments, analyzing data, documenting methods and procedures, and reporting results. Preference will be given to candidates with elemental analysis or microbiology experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform activities associated with the collection, preparation and testing of samples.
- Document test conditions and results, identify issues, and escalate these for resolution as needed.
- Report results of analytical and other investigative projects.
- Calibration of analytical instrumentation; maintain associated documentation.
- Monitor, test, and assist in the repair and maintenance of equipment and other systems.
- Perform general housekeeping activities.
What is expected of you and others at this level
- Intermediate working knowledge of statistics, laboratory procedures and chemical technology.
- Proficient in performing chemical calculations.
- Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise
- Works within standard operational procedures and/or scientific methods
- Works with a moderate degree of supervision
- Communicates well in written and spoken formats.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 1-3 years' relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of laboratory procedures and automated laboratory equipment.
- Intermediate capability with the MS Office suite of computer software.
- Knowledge and proficiency in the handling of hazardous materials is preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
- Work includes laboratory, production, and office settings.
- Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods.
- Lift/handle weights of 50 lbs.
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, hazardous materials, heavy equipment, etc.
