Our growing and friendly team is located in Boston, within the vibrant Seaport District. We're building a therapeutic discovery engine to support our pipeline of next generation cell-targeted biologics for the treatment of autoimmune, allergic, and other inflammatory diseases.
Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist - Molecular Biology
We are looking for a talented and passionate Senior Research Associate in Molecular Biology to join a high performing team with a unified goal of providing novel biologic therapies across a variety of immune-mediated diseases. The position is lab-based and will work primarily with colleagues in the Platform team, as well as the Biology team, to support Seeker's pre-clinical programs through the design and execution of high throughput molecular biology workflows.
Responsibilities:
* Own high throughput cloning workflows from beginning to end using techniques such as golden gate assembly and Gibson assembly
* Execute standard molecular biology techniques involved in cloning workflows including PCR, gel electrophoresis, restriction digest and ligation, E. coli transformation, plasmid preps, and plasmid verification via Sanger sequencing or NGS
* Collaborate with members across Seeker's platform team to design, construct, and validate antibody constructs as part of Seeker's antibody discovery pipeline
* Curate a continually growing plasmid database for accessibility and use across Seeker's science team
* Multi-task across Seeker's science team to execute cloning workflows that span multiple projects
* Report and communicate progress to Seeker's science team
* Maintain accurate experimental records using an electronic lab notebook
* Contribute to shaping an open, inclusive, and rigorous company culture by embracing teamwork, creativity, and a can-do attitude; lead by example to create and sustain an intellectually rich and dynamic work environment that is supportive and inclusive
Requirements:
* BS or MS in biology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, or a related field
* Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with high throughput molecular biology, preferably in an industry setting
* Strong experience with cloning techniques including golden gate assembly, Gibson assembly, PCR, gel electrophoresis, E. coli transformation, plasmid preps, and Sanger sequencing or NGS
* Competency with molecular biology software tools such as Geneious or Benchling
* Excellent organization, documentation, and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Competency in Python and R programming languages
* Experience with liquid handlers or other lab automation technologies
* Knowledge of antibody discovery techniques and workflows
