Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.
We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.
Environmental Manager (WTX)
Job Summary:
The open position is for an Environmental Manager for West Texas and South Texas midstream assets as a member of the Western Midstream (WES) Operational Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Team. This position will be located in our Kermit, TX office. The position will manage a team of professionals conducting environmental compliance support for activities associated with our West Texas and South Texas operations.
Qualifications:
At least eight (8) years of HSSE experience required.
Past management experience required.
Midstream, gas plant, and/or exploration and production environmental experience.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience with environmental regulations including SPCC, RCRA, and Texas Railroad Commission and New Mexico Oil Conservation Division.
Spill cleanup and groundwater and soil remediation project management.
Incident investigation background (root cause, 5-Why, etc.)
Broad knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental procedures, and regulations as they apply to oil and natural gas operations.
Proficient technical and computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, SAP, and ArcGIS.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must communicate effectively with operations and technical staff, management, and regulatory agency personnel.
Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of a team of environmental professionals.
Partner with operations and engineering teams to provide environmental compliance support.
Develop, implement, and maintain corporate environmental compliance programs.
Assist in the development and implementation of environmental management systems.
Work with and assist operations to provide HSSE support on projects and programs.
Works with HSSE Management to establish and implement team goals.
Support and foster HSSE vision, mission, and strategy among direct reports.
Assist the Corporate Process Safety team with implementation and monitoring of continuous improvement efforts regarding process safety.
Assist and provide support with HSSE meetings and HSSE program training.
Participate on the WES Incident Management Team for Emergency Response.
Budget preparation and oversight with local operations team.
Support incident investigation process for environmental incidents.
Education:
Requires a bachelor's degree preferably in a science, engineering, or industry related field.
Licenses:
Valid driver's license with no restriction that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
Relocation:
This position is eligible for domestic relocation.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel to the WES corporate offices in Texas and Colorado is required (10-15%) as well as occasional travel to WES South Texas operation facilities
Regular travel to WES field operation facilities in the Delaware Basin is required
Work Schedule:
The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 9 hours and Friday, 4 hours.
