The Faculty of Science and Mathematics in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) at the Polytechnic Campus at Arizona State University invites applications for two Assistant Professor positions in immunology with expertise in area of, but not limited to animal health and veterinary science. This position will be part of a diverse, interdisciplinary team that includes applied math, physics, chemistry, wildlife ecology, ecological modeling, and sustainable horticulture faculty dedicated to quality instruction, mentorship, and research. Primary responsibilities will be to establish and maintain an active, externally-funded research program, instruct undergraduate and graduate courses, engage students in our rapidly growing pre-veterinarian studies, and our new (fall 2024) pre-dental program. Other duties include advising students and providing service to the unit, college, and university. Teaching responsibilities entail two (2) courses per semester. Course load and composition is determined by the faculty head. This is an academic-year (9 month) appointment with an expected start date of August 2023. The Assistant Professor position is tenure track, with health and retirement benefits. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
The Science and Mathematics faculty support students in nine undergraduate programs across a variety of science and mathematics fields, and one graduate program in applied biological science. We also offer three minors and one certificate. Faculty conduct innovative research in applied mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, and math education.

Required Qualifications:
Earned Ph.D. in Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Animal Science, Zoology, Biology, or closely related field, or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at time of appointment
Published research in peer-reviewed journals
Ability to teach in digital environments such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously)
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Desired Qualifications:
Strong background in immunology, infectious diseases, animal disease, animal health, oral health, or veterinary science
Strong record of (or strong evidence of the promise of) scholarly research and publications
Post-doctoral and/or post-DVM research experience

Evidence of ability to establish collaborative research relations with industry partners, agencies, the private sector, and/or other scientists
Two or more years of teaching experience in higher education
