Title: Biologist (3-5 years)
Location: San Diego, CA
Start date: ASAP
Responsibilities:The Biologics Discovery Group at the Biotechnology Center in San Diego is searching for an associate level scientist with experience in tissue culture and cell-based assays.
The ideal candidate will be enabling and performing pseudoviral assays in support of the SARS-CoV-2 therapeutic antibody drug efforts.
Provide cell culture support and general supply management
Provide cell-based assay support
Work collaboratively with project teams on-site to achieve critical research objectives and timelines.
Interact productively with the antibody discovery, protein engineering and purification groups in San Diego and Indianapolis.
Requirements:Candidates should have a B.S. in Biological sciences (Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Biochemistry, or similar field)
Minimum 3 years relevant laboratory experience.
Basic tissue culture techniques, cell maintenance and media formulation
Experience with 96-well cell-based chemiluminescent reporter assays
Strong technical, organization, documentation, and communication skills (verbal and written).
Must be able to track on-going projects and discuss data.
Additional Skills/Preferences: Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, data analysis and record keeping skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and in a team setting are essential
Experience with established transfection methods is highly preferable.
Experience with recombinant mammalian viral vectors is a strong plus
